2011 12 Hours of Oleta

Location: Oleta River State Park - North Miami, Florida

A perfect start to a new year of racing in South Florida, temperatures were in the sixties and low seventies throughout the day and night as nearly 200 racers faced the challenges of the Oleta course.  It was a 10 mile journey each lap that took in trails with names like “gator bank” and “Gillian’s island” and “rocky mile” that had the racers both grinning and grimacing at the same time.  Many thanks to all of the fine sponsors and special thanks to Cannondale bicycles and Mack’s Cycle and Fitness.  The top rider on the day was Sebastian Ortiz and top female was Jennifer Moos (who finished third overall by the way).  Top 6 hour rider was Drew Edsall and top team was the City Bikes team with 15 laps.  Congratulations to all that met the challenge!
